Good day all,

I am from SA and have being in NZ for 3 weeks now, started my new job here 2 weeks ago so things are going well.

Is there any surfers out there living in NZ that are from SA? I am based in Auckland and head out to places like Piha and Muriwai over weekends, havnt had a surf yet as the wind as being all wrong for the past 2 weekends. (only got a car 2 weeks ago).

I'm not from SA, but I surf a lot around Auckland. I prefer Muriwai to Piha - it gets far too crowded in the summer for my liking, but at this time of year it's fine.
I'm not really into winter surfing (it's too cold for me) - I'm hoping for some decent snow so I can go boarding up at Ruapehu instead.

Sounds good! Where about is this ski resort, far from Aucks? Yeah i heard Piha gets pretty crowded, thinking bout doing trip up to Shipwrecks, hear it's pretty good and handels the SW winds which we have a lot of now.
