I will need some advice.

Here is my situation.

I am from Japan and stying in CHCH with my wife and two kids.

We came here as visitor. I changed my status to working holiday.
My wife is chainging it to visitor gurdian visa. My daughter is changing
it to student visa. Youngest son will be with my wife's visa.

Now, I have a job and employer want to keep me more than three monthes
and I want to go for Work Permit.

What is the best step to take.

I guess I have to change every member of my family's status again.

I was also wondering if my wife would be able to work
with her new visa (work permit dependent).

Any advice will be appriciated.

Thank you,

Kuni

Welcome to the forum Kuni. I've read that the fastest way to get a work permit is to go to the immigration services offices in whichever city you're in.

Is your job on the shortage list, or will you need to prove that no New Zealander is available?

Maybe I'm wrong but does your wife's guardian visa mean you're paying for your daughter's schooling? You won't need to do that any more if you get a work permit.
