Today I'm in my first day of unpaid employment for the first time since 1981. Feels strangely refreshing.

Gave up work yesterday
Exchanged contracts on house yesterday
Cats go tomorrow to cattery prior to flying out shortly after us.
Shippers arrive on Monday.
Complete on house sale on Thursday.
Quick tour around family and friends
Fly out to Auckland on 25th June via L.A

Phew.. Talk about timing. It's all come round so quick but it has gone like clockwork. Was a bit worried the house sale might collapse last week so mightily relieved today.

Looking forwards to our new life despite the large numbers of negative posts recently. As always I appreciate other peoples perspective but I'm happy to hit my own hurdles as they come.

Good luck to everyone on the 'journey' it seems long and then all of a sudden it smacks you in the face and you're off to the airport:cheers

Life is what you make it mate. I think it must feel like the end of one part when you are actually going over there having been through so much to get over there in the first place.

Have you got a job lined up in Auckland or going over to look?

Enjoy,
-M

I went over in Feb,

Already had a job lined up. Just need to get the missus working then can start to explore a bit. Got a few friends there too so won't be too lonely.

Are you applying?

If so good luck

Sounds like all is going well, good luck with everything.

I know that in the month before I came out, the negative posts seemed to jump out at me, whereas in reality, there were probably lots of positive ones too, I just seemed drawn to things that worried me.

Overall, most people that have moved here seem to love it, and I'm sure you will.
