We've made it here, YAAAAAA! I want to post our story so far but I'd like some help with the WP app. form 1st.
Question A18 - home country address. We don't have one as we've sold up, so how do we answer?
Question A25 -WP date. We're here under tourist visa but r going to EOI for PR.Do we answer 1 year on as a date as the WP applying for is for 1 year?
Question G7 - how long to work in NZ. The job offer is for permanent & as I say we're going for residency. So do we answer permanent to this?
I'd really appreciate your advice peeps.
It's great being back on the forum,
Vicky

From what I understand you fill out the Work Permit app. with just work permit information, so I'd put a year. Don't know about home country address. I'm far from an expert on WPs, so mostly I'm giving you a bump in case someone else knows.
Congrats on making it to NZ!! :D

Thank you for that.We have a bit of time before submitting but those other 2 questions worry me.I know there are others on the forum who've done the same as us & I would really appreciate their input. We're on the Kapiti Coast too.

Hi Victoria
I had similar trouble filling in form as some questions seem a bit confusing.
A18- If you have set up a redirection address in UK for your mail, use that. If you haven't, use your old address in UK.
A25- As you can apply for a General Work Permit for 3 years, put down the date 3 years from when you arrive in NZ for the date you will be leaving NZ and also the same date for when you want your work permit to be current to.
NZIS officially told me that answer when I rang them with the same query.
G7- 2 years or longer. I used this answer as the term is used earlier in the form and for a permanent job offer it is correct. Also once you are staying for 2 years or longer that is when you need your police certs, medical, bloods and chest x-rays.
Hope that made sense but dont worry too much as if there are any problems with any questions, NZIS will be on the phone to clear them up!
PM me if you have anything else you are unsure about. We have just been thro same process and we have learnt more about immigration since being in NZ than we did in 2 years before we left UK!

Oh you hit it right on the nail & thank you very much!! I may well take you up on pming as some of the questions seem a bit daunting. I generally sail through anything authorative but this is so very important, I wouldn't want to screw up.
You're right about the learning too.
kindest regards
Vicky

I've filled out more WP applications than I can remember - for myself and helping friends who've come over.
To answer your questions, although StevieC has already done so, I would do mine differently.
A18 - I put down a contact address in the UK. For me my best friend, others a parent or sibling. Not too sure why they ask for this as it isn't used for any reason that I can pertain...
A25 - if you are confident that you'll get PR granted within a year or 18 months then I would put this as the length of WP that you require. This negates the need for a medical which would be necessary if you apply for more than 2 years. (Saves expenses now which you'll have to pay out again for your PR application - unless you get it done in the 3 month validity window.)
G7 - I put the same as for A25. Saves confusion, and NZIS will have a copy of your employment contract anyway, which should state that the position you're being offered is a permanent one.
Hope this helps, and isn't too confusing in light of the earlier responses.

Your answer for A25 makes sense KerryS.
I think I went for the 3 year permit for my family and myself for peace of mind really. Knowing that we have that length of time to get organised etc for PR app. and not panicking in 12 months or so. Done enough of that this year!
