hi we're hoping to make the move one day to NZ and hear the above two places are great to live in. Any thoughts or feedback from members? I understand nelson has it's own sorta microclimate! warmth I crave warmth!

Lol, then Nelson would suit you on the climate front :)

We had a trip there at Easter, and they're both lovely places. Fantastic scenery around too. I imagine they're still a bit nippy in Winter though, just more sun than other places.

We have friends who have settled in Blenheim and love it there - we are also considering it.

They should be lurking on the forum so hopefully they'll post you a reply.

I think I'd prefer Nelson of the 2, as there's a bit more going on there, but it depends on what you're looking for apart from the microclimate! Both beautiful places, but we thought Picton seemed a bit quiet when we were there in the winter. For beaches, definitely Nelson!

thanks for that I'll chase up my great aunt wynn in picton when I visit. Her father jumped ship there in the 1940's and must have loved it enough to stay and settle!
