Well, that was easy, passed with just one wrong (the first question, of course!) :clap

Anyway, nothing to worry about for anyone in doubt. Read the book and do a couple of sample tests online and you'll sail through.

Paula has been trying to get there just with the online tests and finding she almost passes every time, but at $84 it's not worth the risk of failing and having to fork out again, so she's reading the book now. :)

The place where I did my test was a bit odd (VTNZ in Hamilton). They sat me in the staff room where there were a couple of mechanics eating sandwiches and having a brew at the same table. Strange, but it obviously didn't put me off (except the first question !).

The eye test is simple too. If you don't pass that you probably shouldn't be driving anyway ;)

CONGRATULATIONS.......:clap

Well done Sam - it's really quite easy isn't it.

I'm sure Paula already knows this, but for those of you who don't, all the questions on the scratch papers for the theory test are actually taken from the questions printed in the back of the book, so all you really have to do is go through the questions and learn the ones that you are unsure of.

Pretty simple, especially for us from the UK who's road rules are very similar........except maybe for what you do with a piece of white material here in NZ if you break down on a motorway - I thought that to be very odd, but when in Rome eh?

Good luck Paula for when it's your turn.

Oh dear, I've never heard of that one - am I supposed to carry a piece of white material in my car for some reason  Perhaps to tie on my antenna as a surrender flag in case my car is attacked by pirates??

All those good luck wishes must have worked as I sat my theory test this afternoon and passed with no wrong answers. So na na na na na to you Sam :p

I had a slight hiccup with the eye test as they make you look into this machine and read 3 lines of letters and then do this thing where they press a button and a light flickers on and off. It took me a good few minutes before I could see the lights - of course it was my fault - I hadn't realised the lights would be varying in strengths. I thought they were all the same. :o

Still I had a nice red glow for my photo.;)

I guess that means that should we ever be towing a trailer on the open road that Paula will have to drive. :)

The bloke next door has just stuck a broken washing machine out on his drive. It clearly won't fit in his car and the bloke opposite has a trailer I could borrow. I'll just nip round and offer your services. :exit

BBB (on PP's logon, by mistake - can't get nothing right today - ah well, cheesecake for tea, that'll make up for it)

Congrats to you both, you are so organised, either that or you have nothing better to do and you have settled in the NZ life too easily.

I could stick my bum out of the window, that's very white. Had pleanty of practice doing this in my younger days (school bus journeys were such a hoot)
