We just got our GP to give us a one pager summary of any major events and current medication. That was free, and to be honest, perfectly adequate. £50 (per patient) to get a full set of notes is a total rip off imho

I did, but only because I've re-constructive surgery after a bike accident. OH has registered us with a GP in the CBD & was told that there was no point getting hers sent over as it costs too much. I haven't been yet, but have them at the ready.
The rule of thumb seems to be if you have anything that may affect you later on, its a good idea to take them.
I got photocopies from my GP & if I remember correctly it only cost £15.00. I suppose the cost depends how hard up your local surgery is.

I would ask for them (or a summary, as suggested) just so you'll have less unfinished business back here.
I know what you mean about questions...at 3 AM it's amazing what I think of!!
