Hello everyone,

I am currently planning on moving to nz and have read lots of stuff on it but am confused.

I am trying to do it on my own without a immigration company to keep my costs down but its proving a bit of a headache!

I have lived and worked in nz for a year, 4 years ago under the holiday visa scheme. I now want to come back now and try and make it more permanent.

I am young and healthy and I am in audio/visual installations which is quite specialist but not recognised in any of the lists.

I applied and got turned down for a skilled migrants visa in Nov last year due to not having high enough qualifications and my line of work has no recognised work qualifications.

I have no job offer at present.

I am confidant I could go back into my old nz job if I approached them as it is the same line of work and I have gained more experience but I would prefer to see what else is about.

I am confused about what I should apply for (visa/permit)and what kind of air ticket I should get (one way/return) also what I put down on the visa entrance card as I have no job to go to but I will be seeking one .

Should I be looking at an immigration company to look at this over in the U.K or in nz and how much do they charge?

Hope someone has some answers!

Thanks for taking the time to read,

Many Thanks

Welcome to the Forum,

It might be worth going back to your old job, just to get a foot in the door, so to speak and then you should be able to apply for a visa.

Good luck with everthing.

Welcome indeed.

We came with no job, ut had enough points and experience to get in on skilled migrant category.

Sounds like your best option would be to use your old contacts to obtain a job offer and use that as your 'entry ticket' so to speak.

Hard to give any definitive advice as we didn't go via that route.
