Not entirely relevant, but some folks have been asking about e-mail.

I use Gmail, which I think is great. I've got some invites if anyone wants to send me a PM with their name and current email address, I'll get one out to you.

Sorry, I should have given a bit more detail.

Gmail is Google's email system, which is web based and uses the familiar Google layout and search system. Its free, but currently open to invitation only, which it occasionally dishes out to current users for passing on to friends etc.

I find it very good.

Hi Billy

I dont want g mail - I can just about cope with e mail! Notice you are from Argyll. us to. Have you had a job offer? have you had any quotes from moving companies. From what we can gather (due to remote location) Whites seems to be the best bet.

Any thoughts on the matter??

Cheers

Jim and Frances

Be careful....

Woz has always been sceptical about Google... they are notorious for harvesting info from any source possible.

Their Gmail and Desktop Search have both been criticised for security and privacy issues, i.e when YOU delete an email they keep it, and use your info for profiling etc.

Use it wisely... do your own research and know the risks before you use it.

And if you REALLY want to scare yourself...

http://johnny.ihackstuff.com/index.php?module=prodreviews

Unbelievable stuff there - the best (worst?) is the number of web enabled devices (i.e security cameras) that are being used using their default security settings and without protection!! Go on.. have a look.. you will be amazed.. I spent a good few evening trawling through the security cameras.. some great ones there - many of them even have their controlpads still active so you can zoom and pan... unreal.

Having said that - many may now have been fixed so expect a few dud links... once these companies know they've been rumbled they usually sharpen up their security!!

And yes, they are REAL contact lists and passwords.....
