Have dream of farming a few sheep and cows etc when we move over and have been told that there are sheep shearing courses. Anyone out there any advice/ experience?

How many sheep are you thinking of? Probably just as cheap to get a shearer in as suspect cost of kit may be expensive altho you could use it for dagging :yes

Lots of courses here in Christchurch/canterbury for people with lifestyle blocks (which seems to be anything over an acre), fencing, shearing, tree felling, .. my personal favourite and I'm oh so tempted......... is "Chainsaws for Chicks"... love it!

I now have an image in my head of a chicken with a chainsaw :p . Sounds like Quentin Tarantino meets Wallace & Gromit :uhoh
