Hi everyone,

Just a quick question - my mum and dad have just been selected from the EOI pool and it now states that they are doing a few checks before they may be invited to apply for PR - does anyone know of the timescales approx. from the EOI being selected from the pool to them issuing an ITA? Also any info on what they can expect to happen next would be much appreciated.

Thanks a lot!

Tony:)

Hi Tony,

Well Done :cheers

Now you take a very deep breath and have your 1st lesson in patience !!!

You must wait for them to decide if they will Invite you To Apply (ITA). They do some basic checks on you e.g have you got an NZ criminal record or have you been refused entry.

This will take as long as it takes but normally a week or so. If you are invited to supply, you get half a tree ( I kid you not!) through your letterbox and you have 4 months to complete you application.

Whist you are waiting, it is worth gathering your evidence as follows

Full Birth Certificates
Marriage Certificate
Relationship Evidence
Any Custodial evidence
Work History
Medicals
Police Checks
Job Offer (if relevant)
Passports (you need more than 6 months on these)
Passport Photos

Any relevant medical history must be suuplied by your GP and/or Consultant NOT SHO, registrar or similar

All documents have to be originals NOT emails, faxes or photocopies unless certified

Sorry, if I've frightened the life outta you! but it really does pay to be organised.

Any more questons, please do not hesitate to get in touch

We were selected 23 May, still awaiting for ITA, checking everday.

Regards Karen

a word of caution - The length of time it can take before you recieve your ITA can very, you are prioritized if you have a job offer. If you dont, as in my case, you will take longer . I was selected back in December and only recieved my ITA yesterday.
Some items in the paper work must not be too old when you send it back police forms (6months) and medicals (3months). with the medicals costing so much i would suggest that you wait to arrange them until you have recieved your ITA

good luck in your journer

It may be anywhere between a few weeks to a few months but I could be wrong

It was only supposed to take 3 months (usually), but 4 for us. Everything has taken forever in our application. I'm coming up on 1 year since we submitted our EOI which was picked from the pool a week or two later.

As Karen has already said, patience is your first lesson. Unless you have a job, surely your patience will be tested at times, hopefully not too often though.
