Hi all,

My dad has just been given his ITA, he is currently 55 years old and 56 next April - if he get PR before he is 56 would he then still have to be in NZ before his 56th birthday or could he still have his 1 year wait until he has to be over there?

Many thanks

Tony

Hello.....I think I have read somewhere that he would have to get PR before the birthday only...he would still get the same amount of time as everyone else to come over.

Since he has just gotten his ITA, he should just make it on the time frame--it often takes 6-7 months to get PR even at the ITA stage unless he gets a job offer, in which case things could happen fast.

Maybe someone else can verify?

ok thanks for that, he has a job offer in place - do you think this will help to speed the process up a little?

A job offer will save months. I've seen it happen over and over on this board. Unless there is a medical problem, of course.
