Although getting my ITA yesterday, I am slightly confused as the letter of things to do that comes with the application states "registration with EWRB" to get this, I have to have a job and basically live in NZ. I cannot get a job unless I'm registered. :?

I would have thought the NZIS would know from my details that I am not in a position to obtain this at present. So, I don't know what I am going to do! Has anyone else had to register as an electrician prior to moving / living / working in NZ, I can't see how it is possible! (or anyone else in a similar position) :hopeso

I am going to have to contact them (but not on the £1 per minute number they gave me!!)

I think they were sitting the Electricity registration exams in London not sure fo the details but the old grey matter seems to remember somehting about this.

I e-mailed the NZIS team in London and they replied with speed. Basically, if I meet all of the requirements (qualifications/work experience etc), I will be issued a work visa for 2 years, then, when I move, I have 2 years to get a job offer and / or registration. That is if I have a satisfactory interview with them.

I too received my ita in the last couple of days but your last post as got me alittle confused.
I was under the impression that if you submit your ITA and then persuade the case officer in your interview that you have the ability to settle successfully in NZ that you would be issued with a residency permit and not have to go through the work to residence route.
Please could you expand , Im now alittle worried because we dont want to go through that route
