Well I got burned by the initial doctor I saw to fill out my NZ 1007 form. I just got it "fixed" and will explain later in this post.

I am in shape pretty athletic guy with BMI of 30-31%. I feel fine :)
Form 1007, Page 9, D17 says:

"Are there any physical or mental conditions which may effect this person's ability to earn a living, attend a mainstream school, take care of themselves or adapt to a new environment now or in future in life"?

The resident doctor (MD) ticked the box for "NO" on page 9, line D17. He added a comment saying, "Well maybe, BMI 31". This incorrect & unnecessarily comment raised red flags with NZIS and caused my medical forms to be flagged to go to the NZ medical accessor. I am learning this now after the fact.

I got it FIXED finally: I went back to the medical center where the resident doctor was and met with his boss - the senior physician. She saw his "comments" and apologized for this horrible mistake & immediately wrote a letter on medical center letterhead stating that I indeed was totally capable of working, living and adapting to life in a new country. She also said there is nothing physically or mentally stopping my from being able to take care of myself in a new home in a new country.

She, a very experience doctor, looked visibly upset and said she was "going to speak with the resident doctor about this serious incident". She then had her signed letter faxed directly to my NZ visa officer who I was working with. The NZ visa officer then submitted my new all good (passing/normal results) blood tests with this signed letter by this senior physician to the NZ medical assessors office in Wellington. I am very very very very confident I'll my visa soon now! :nice1

The moral of this sickening story is learned my mistake of NOT fully reviewing your doctors comments on your form 1007. Something like "well maybe, BMI 31" can cause unneeded hell on Earth for you when trying to get your 30 month NZ work visa. Some here's some tips for form 1007...

* check your forms for ALL comments by the doctor(s)
* question any odd comments with the senior physician on staff :uhoh

You'll save the 5-6 weeks that I just lost from my process. Hope this helps everything and YES I am very angry here, but there's nothing I can do about now anymore. I should be in NZ working and living right now!!!
