Hi folks,
my first post on here but this site has been a valuable resource. Many thanks.
We have been granted PR in a defacto relationship with myself as the main applicant with a job offer. We had a total of 155 points with 10 points for my partners qualification. Our passports are all 'stickered up'. However the job doesn't start until Feb so we couldn't enter NZ until Nov.
Question, as our relationship is most probably over due to many reasons and NZ being one of them, how do I stand on the NZIS side of things? Do I inform them? will it change my PR status?
Any info greatly received.

As you are the principal applicant your situation shouldn't really change.
If the partnership does end then you will no longer be able to claim any points from them, but as you say you will still have 145 points I doubt there would be anything to worry about.
Taken from NZIS:
R2.1.15.1 What happens if a visa or immigration officer is not satisfied that a couple are living together in a partnership that is genuine and stable? If a visa or immigration officer is not satisfied the principal applicant* and partner* included in the application are living together in a partnership that is genuine and stable*, then: a. the partner* will not be issued a residence visa or granted a residence permit; and b. if the principal applicant* is reliant on: i the attributes of their partner included in the application, or ii the family relationship of their partner* included in the application,
I would let your case officer know if your relationship does dissolve as it may make it awkward.

Sorry to hear you're an unhappy bunny :(
I was in a similar situation, but at a later stage. My partner was the primary applicant with a job offer. We arrived and he met the requirements to have the conditions removed from our PR (stayed in the job for 3 months I think). Later when we separated and he left NZ I called my case officer to let him know. He said that it wouldn't affect my PR, but may affect my application for IRRV as that needs to be lodged by the primary applicant. As you're the primary applicant, I don't see you have any issues.
Hopefully life in NZ will go smoothly for you :)

thanks for your comments.
I checked my PR paperwork and it says to inform the NZIS of any change in marital status and I suppose this would call for it. I'll hang on for a while to confirm it's all over and then do the dreaded deed.
thanks for the info again.
A slightly happier bunny today.
