For anybody out there waiting for or neeeding police checks from the FBI, don't despair over their advertised 16 to 18 week processing time. I mailed in my request on May 24 and received it back on June 23. I did provide a self-addressed pre-paid overnight package and wrote on the outside of the request that expedited service was requested for immigration purposes.

Honestly I was shocked when it came back so fast! Now if the NZ embassy in Los Angeles is equally speedy with WTR visa processing, I'll be a happy guy.

ChCh on August3! :cheers

I hope you're right. My wife sent hers off on yesterday, marked for immigration purposes.

I'm actually more worried about our passports, which we sent off last week (expedited), as they were both going to expire within the next year. We've heard those are currently taking forever.

Then you'll be happy to know I just had my passport renewed - paid for expedited service and got it back in 11 days.

Don't know if you read the news lately, but they dropped the passport requirements for Canada travel recently, reportedly to ease the summer passport crunch.

I'd heard about the passport rule relaxation, but I just figured that they still had a huge backlog in the pipeline.

Our FBI check came back Monday, so it took three weeks, including all the time it spent in the Postal system. Very quick, and very surprising!
