I'm looking for recommendations of schools for kids 9 yrs old and older in the Dunedin area. Preferably public but open to private.
I have an interest in progressive education (active/engaged/nurturing of critical thinking/hands-on/experiential based) rather than a traditional 1950s classroom (rote memorization/teacher lecturing/loads of worksheets completed in a silent room).
Schools with strong programming for 'gifted' kids would be ideal.
We'll be looking into the "One Day" schools but I believe there are no "One Day" schools in Dunedin. (I take that back - Pine Hill School is listed as a One Day school location - anyone know anything about this school?)
Multicultural/global learning community would make it all the richer!
Names of schools any of you would advise we look into?
