Hi !

Just enquiring wether anyone knows how long the process is taking for an Adult Child Sponsorship application to go through.
I have searched threads but it doesn't seem to be a very common subject, in that not many people have gone down this route ?
If anyone has any rough ideas that would be great ~:D

Cheers

Britchik,

It usually takes 9-12 months..depending on the NZIS branch you are applying to.. however, under adult child sponsorship (family reunion) the child is required to have a job offer .. otherwise the application may be returned..

My in-laws are in NZ and they'd sent the sponsorship form for my wife and me.. however, the application was returned as she didn't have a job offer.. this was in nov'06

Please go through NZIS website or contact your nearest NZIS branch.. if they have changed anything recently..

Do you know if any job will do, or does it have to be a skilled job?

No, providing the Adult Child meets the requirement under the sponsorship they are allowed to take on any job.
Hope that helps :)
