Hi Everybody,
Thought I had better say hello and introduce ourselves as I've just posted on this forum for the first time.
I work in motorsport, my OH a conference organiser, two kids and...
In the last week, I've been offered some work in Dunedin. I'd always wanted to come to NZ and I've been lucky enough that I've been over a few times with work. Last year I managed to put a holiday on the work trip and had a bit of a tour round the south island. I love the place and I cant believe I've got the chance to come and live there.
So, now just trying to get all the info together, I'll be ringing NZIS on monday and I've asked about stuff here as well. I'll apologise now if I come out with any silly questions, but I like to hear it "like a six year old!!!".
Anyway, hope everybody's following their dreams.
Matt

Hello and welcome.
No such thing as a silly question if it helps prepare you for being here. If it's been answered before we can point you at the relevant thread if you don't find it with a search, or we'll do our best to advise or offer opinion where we can.
Good luck.

Welcome to the forum. No such things as silly questions - if you don't know the answer it's not a silly question! So ask away.

Hi Matt and welcome to the forum.
You have definitely come to the right place as you'll be able to find answers to most, if not all, of your questions here. Never hesitate to ask a question if you haven't been able to find an answer through the forum search function, there's always someone willing to help or indeed point you in the right direction.
As Pinkpiggy already mentioned, there are no 'silly' questions, the process can seem complicated and daunting at times. Doing the research is, IMO, vitally important to being well prepared for such a life changing move. With the help and support of this forum, it won't seem so tough and you'll find your way for sure...
Congratulations on the job offer and good luck with your preparations if you do decide to go ahead with it...

Thanks guys!!
Can you believe it, the week that I want to start sorting a life changing move, and it goes manic at work. One of the many reasons for wanting to go to NZ, my job can be demanding at times(same as everybody's I know).
We're desperately finishing off the last bits of decorating as well, so that becomes one less thing to worry about as we go further down the line.
I think I should mention as well, that although this was something I wanted to do, I never thought it would happen and it was always only in the back of my mind. So, now I'm going for it and I'm not all prepared!! Oh well, managed to get through life this far!! Anyway, thats why I may not appear clued up on things.
Anyway, take it easy.
