can anyone help me regarding obtaining certified copies of certificates etc?? I ask as I am not comfortable sending originals and have been given the option of sending certified ones but I have not got a clue where / how to get this done and also if it costs anything
Any help would be appreciated

Hi Nick
My boyfriend had to get something certified (cant remember what is was, I think it was his passport), he just walked into a local solicitors in the UK and asked if someone could certify the document, they did and they didnt charge him :clap , whether that was just a one off I dont now but they could have charged him.
It is worth a try, whether it depends on how many documents you have to get certified.

On asking at a "Notary Public" , we were quoted £150 for 3 certified copies, 2 adults, 1 child. Mark and I felt this quite extreme. We contacted a local solicitor who offered the same service for just £15. On the 23rd of December I went along to get our copies, only to be told they didn't have the change of my £20 note and therefore only charged me £10.....it was nearly Xmas after all.... my advice, always shop around!!

We had to get a document certified, we went to a solicitor and they did it for 5.00.
Their certification was obviously accepted by the NZIS as we've recently had PR granted.
