Hi Guys
Arrived in NZ last sunday. My mobile was working with my UK sim but went out on Tuesday and purchased 3 vodafone sims for me,my husband and my daughter. We can send and receive texts in NZ but when we text back to the UK we can send and people are receiving them but we are not getting their messages back. It's very frustrating!!!! Been onto vodafone twice this morning but would be bettere talking to the brick wall infront of me. Can anyone help please

I generally get them fine, as far as I know people have my number stored as 0064 21 *** **** and we have UK ones stored as 0044 7 etc

Remember that delivery of SMS messages is not guaranteed. Indeed, the technology was only initially developed for service messages and it was never envisaged that it would be used like it is now - just take a look at the first phones which had SMS capability - it was buried away in sub-menus!

Depending on the network, and especially with international transfers, messages can be 'batched', so they only send them when the networks aren't as busy. This means you can often get a load of SMS messages in the middle of the night (and no, it isn't the time difference!).
