Hi,

Anyone experienced either of these two companies?

Part of the same overall company the Emigration Group appear to handle the visa/immigration process and Taylor & Associates manage the job search on your behalf. Both claim sucess rate of 95%+ but surely it can't be that easy.

A fee of £95 gains a written eligibility assessment report and a 2 hour consultation at their offices. However, unless I being really cynical, the consultation appears to be their opportunity to sell other services, eg. via & job search. Additionally, if they do find you a job which you accept you're obliged to let them manage the immigration side of things for another fee.

Has anyone used these services before? Good and bad stories welcome.

Thanks,

Steve

I would say don't be cynical about the Emigration Group - in my experience they were honest, even if the truth hurt. They turned me down (on the basis that my work experience and qualifications were not of a high enough level to easily find a job, which I now agree is correct) and refunded my money as promised.

In contrast, another agency were happy to take £4000 off me to process my application on the basis of me finding my own job - I declined the offer ;).

My belief is that no agency will take you on unless you have a good chance of success, and at that point it probably means you could do it on your own and save some money.

We went with them for the initial consultation and decided against using them. they were very helpful and professional. We had sort of decided we weren't going to use them before we wnet to see them but went along to "pick their brains" about the process. It did help to clarify a lot and the guy was very helpful, and we weren't pressured.

If we had gone with them it may have made it smoother for us as we have had some problems but nothing that we haven't been able to sort out ourselves....

sorry another thing after re-reading the original post... They Taylor part in NZ won't take you on (we were told) unless you had PR, or the immigration Group were dealing with your application. But it was very expensive, you pay them (Taylor) a fee and then they take a % of your salary for the first year. This is in addition to the fees that you have to pay the Immigration Group and also the medicals and the police reports etc.. They were quite up-front about it, it just seemed to me that if you have PR you should (hopefully ) get a job quite easily.

Don't pay fees to agencies for finding you work. They get paid by the employers for finding employees

Thank you all for your reponses.

On balance I'm inclined to pay the £95 for an independent view on the strength of our application and an opportunity to talk through various aspects of the process.

Still not convinced that spending a large sum on job search agents is money well spent though.

Thanks again.

Steve
