Hi all,
I received an email from our Visa officer, finally! She indicated that she would be contacting us by the end of next week regarding our application. I'm hoping that she'll be contacting us about arranging an interview, but of course there is that possibility that it'll be to deliver bad news. Understandably she did not give an indication of what she would be contacting us about.
My question is how have people been informed of the bad news before? Is there any behavior or sign that may indicate bad news as opposed to good? I've been getting more and more pessimistic about our chances as this stretches out further and further. I want to be optimistic, but not set myself up for severe disappointment either. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Jason

Jason.
We had a similar e.mail last year when it was our turn.
I'd get prepared to answer all those questions if I were you - I think it's the interview !!!!
We also had a couple of specifics on our application that needed further investigation/confirmation and these were dealt with in a very direct and different manner.

Thanks! That was the answer I was hoping to hear! Time to start reviewing the questions again.
BTW, do they call us or do we call them? I presume we'll have to call them, but maybe I'm wrong.

Ours made a convenient time for both of us (via e.mail) and called us.
Good luck,

Our case officer was very flexible. For various reasons, it was more convenient for us to call our CO for the interview, which we did at a prearranged time. From postings on this forum, however, it seems more the norm to have your CO call you at a prearranged time.
Good Luck!

Thanks everyone! This is good news as well.
Cookevilleins, congrats on Approved in principle! I'm amazed how fast you got through the whole process. As you can see it's been a year for us. How did you get through it so fast?

Thanks JasonS,
We are just as surprised as you at the speed with which our application went through. Thanks to a lot of good advice on this forum, we had all of our paperwork in order when we returned the ITA to London, so there were no follow-up questions that we had to answer. Our application lodged on June 4, and we received an e-mail requesting a phone interview on June 21! I have absolutely no idea why it went through so fast, we didn't even have a job offer. Our initial planning, based on current processing times gleaned from this forum and the internet, was that we might be granted PR in September at *earliest*! Every once in a while life throws you a bone, and this was a Fred Flintstone-sized one for us :laugh .
Good luck with your application!
