Have made various enquires and sky boxes wont work in NZ and think the same goes for freeview.

I assume you are talking about freeview tv.
i am afraid that they wont. NZ are talkign about freeview but that is going to be satellite.

The NZ box only has 2 incoming channels as opposed to the UK box which has three. SO you can watch one channel, and record one in NZ, in the UK you can watch one, record two. I think they are using PACE boxes in NZ, but dont quote me on that. Also, the NZ box is not a PVR, it is just the set top box, like the freeview ones in the UK, You will need to buy a PVR separately at this stage. I think the combined box is coming tho'

NO

UK freeview is a different digital standard to that which is proposed for NZ, so it won't work. And NZ doesn't yet have any digital terrestrial broadcasting.
