Yes the Barmy Army will be making an appearance in NZ in Feb and Mar 08. The England cricket teams intinery has been finalised so anybody out here get down and get involved with the most vocal cricket fans in the world.
One of the ODI will be a day/nighter in Hamilton, so anybody in the Waikato will have the chance to see them at Seddon Park, and they are returning for the 1st test there too.

I have assured my OH that I didn't plan our recce trip for Feb 08 just because the cricket will be on......
She didn't believe me. But, I said, seeing as we are going to be there, it would be rude not to attend at least one of the matches!! The ODI at Hamiltion is looking favorite at the mo!!
Yippeeeeeeee...question is, which team do I support??:laugh
Hopefully see you there if you're going....:nice1

Please don't forget my OH. We hope to be there at the end of 2007 (and therefore ready for cricket in 2008). What a great time to emigrate! Any idea where we could get tickets from?

I can see this being a good little gang going to the games....
Not been to international cricket before, mainly local level, so will be good to see the big guys in action.

Now remember lads the Barmy Army always do these tours in fancy dress, so get your thinking caps on. Will jump back on this thread a a few months and start doing a bit of planning.

I'm a bit concerned about the venues they've chosen and the amount of tickets that will be available. The Welly basin only holds about 13000 which I think will sell out pretty quickly. Went to a few of the Ashes games last year and it was heaving; no doubt much more popular but I can see a lot coming over for this one to

The twins' godfather has already planned his visit based on this and I expect we'll be going too. He loves cricket and even took me to Lords where I shown the Long Room. No match that day but what a view!

Kiwis dont do International crickets as much as the English. You will be liucky to get 5000 at eden park for a ODI. There will probably be more poms there than kiwis. Not sure what there tolerance of alcohol is like either. I know the ozzies have cracked right down on the booze. Only half strength after lunch and you can only buy 2 bottles at a time.
I'm sure the kiwis will be OK though - I got absolutly smashed at the AB's V's Oz game last week and no one batted an eyelid.
Gutted will be back home by then.

Went over to Oz for the Ashes last year, not the best experience I've ever had... Cant wait for this tour, its gonna be a great laugh. A few mates are already in, but always good to meet more cricket loving folk! Surely fancy dress is a must whenever going to the cricket in a big group.
