Hello all,
We have just joined the forum (missed the introduction thread to start with!) and have already picked up loads of great advice, many thanks to you all.
My wife and I (plus our dog, Hudson) are now starting to work our way through the process from the UK (NZQA assessment sent off this week).
Lots of "not sures" going through our head, but we are determined to have a go and avoid the "if only we did...." senario.
Hopefully speak to some of you soon,
Take care,
James & Roxy (+ Hudson)

Welcome James and Roxy. Do you have an idea where you might want to settle when you come out?

Many thanks for the welcome messages, this forum is amazing. We are just getting to grips with the search facility, some much information to explore.
Not made many decisions yet - location wise we loved Christchurch, although I had the feeling Wellington may have more job prospects. I am an architectural technician / design manager and so far have found that the majority of relevant emplyoment seems to be in the North Island.
I am currently on a distance learning degree, which completes in about 12 months, so that is our target, no great rush but lots to think about and do!
Thanks again, we look forward to speaking with you all soon, take care.

Hello,
If it helps we have just booked our flights after planning to make the move for about four years! We regularly go through the "not sures" but always come to the conclusion that the "if only we did" scenario wins out every time. We have found loads of support and great advice on this board.
.....and we have never visited the country before, so youre one step ahead of us:yes
Good luck

Great to get so many supportive words, many thanks.
Still plenty of unsures, however one thing we are sure of is that this forum is the place to gain detailed and honest information.
With regards to Hudson, it looks like it could cost anything between £4000 - £5000 to get him over with us!!!!! There is plenty of information on pets on the forum, use the search facility and you will find all you need. Dogs need to have vet checks etc. most of the shipping companies offer advice on this.
Thanks again
James
