Hi Everybody,

We ( Rohini and myself Deepak ) are excited to join this forum.
We did find this forum very useful and it contains wealth of information
submitted by ever helping and friendly people.

We live in the UK and decided to make a move to NZ a month back ,
We got selected after submitting our EOI on 4th July 2007.

We are expecting our first child in December 2007 , and anticipating that we might get our PR sometime around April 2008.

We would like to know what needs to be done since there would be a new addition to the family when the immigration process is going on ?

We would be grateful to anyone who has had a similar experience and would like to share any information on the same.

Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

Can't help you with what you have to do about the new baby, but I'm sure others here can and will.

Good luck with baby and ITA process,

Daniela

Hello and Welcome

I haven't made the move yet but it sounds like you are looking for a variety of info. This might help ....

Try the 'Making the Move' and the 'Health, Education and Family' sections. At the top of the page you'll see 'Thread/Thread starter'.

Thread = all the threads A-Z
Thread Starter = all the threads sorted A-Z by thread starter

It's a handy extra to the search function. There are lots of threads on moving with children etc.

My handy tip from Mother to Mother - breastfeed! You don't have to worry about fluids or bottles on check in and you can always quieten and soothe your baby. It will also help your baby with any ear pressure pain and according to my sister in law once the Air Steward realised she was feeding he kept her supplied with free bottles of mineral water for the whole flight!

Good Luck!

Thanks very much for your replies.

We were not clear on the aspect from PR point of view.
What is the process of intimating / informing the immigration authority about the new arrival while our application is being processed ?

I can't quite remember but I think there may be a section on the application where you can put in any other information??

As for informing immigration once the baby has arrived try this thread http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=9509&highlight=baby

Good luck with your application.

Hi, and welcome to the forum, this info might be useful?

From NZIS website:
R5.65.1 Newborn children of residence visa holders
a. Children born to applicants who hold residence visas but have not yet been granted residence permits, may be included in their parents' application, provided that the child's name is added to the application form and the following documents are submitted:
i a full birth certificate, and
ii 2 passport-sized photographs, and
iii a fully completed and acceptable NZIS medical certificate, and
iv an acceptable travel document.

b. Newborn children added to General Skills category, Skilled Migrant Category, Investor category, Entrepreneur category, Employees of relocating businesses category or Family category applications after residence visas are issued to the rest of the family (with the exception of those applicants described at R5.90(a)), are subject to Migrant Levy policy (see R5.90).
