Hi

I have about a months supply left of contact lenses I got from the UK and therefore need to look for optitions. Does anyone reccomend one in Christchurch. Live in North West area but don't mind travelling to a good one. :D Also does it work out cheaper getting contacts via internet site like Contacts2go etc..than direct from opticians?

I work for an Opticians in Auckland. I know this does not help you but I can give you and idea of prices and then you can compare them to the internet.

What type of contact lenses do you wear? PM me if you wish.

You will need an upto date prescription to be able to purchase of the internet or from an opticians.

I don`t know if it helps :One of our kids "failed" the vision testing at school and had to see an optometrist. Is this what you are looking for ? If yes, we saw Paul Dunlop and associates in 4-6 New regent Street, Chch (366 7125) and one of their guy was very very good with our child. Did a very thorough tests, it took approx 45 min. Result, only slight astigmatism on once side, but it was good to have the tests done. Very quick to book appointment too.
Can`t help about contact lenses price.

You'll find it's not worthwhile to have them shipped from overseas. Most online venders in the US will only ship by UPS or Fedex and they charge insane handling prices.

It depends on what you're looking for eye care. They definitely do contact lens ordering. I remember many years ago in Canada the eye doctor had this machine that automatically did all the eye measurements and tests (rather than the old "which is clearer A/B tests". I don't know of any place in Christchurch that uses such an equipment.

Not in Christchurch, so can't recommend an actual optician.

I've used them several times and they've been cheaper than the price in store and I've had no problems with delivery. (Postage is about 5 bucks or free if you order over $100 or similar.)

not sure if this helps - but we are in c.church and OH had the same dilemma. We went to Visique ? opticians, in the Guthrey Mall Arcade just off cashel street (nr bridge of rememberance) and they were able to supply OH with the same stuff that he had in the UK.
