I'm going to get our carpets cleaned and wondered if anyone has any recommendations. The yellow pages are full of companies but dont know anything about any of them.

also wondering if one method is better than others? Thinking that the usual "Steam clean" might take forever to dry in this humid climate, is there a method that "dry cleans" the carpets?

Some supermarkets let you hire machines to do it yourself, if you want to save money.

No recommendations, but stay away from A1 Chemdry. They did a really poor job on ours and charged through the roof.

I think it was AA carpet cleaning we used when we moved out of the rental, very quick and friendly, cost $120 for an empty four bed home (this was 2 yrs ago mind!) They charge more if they have to work round furniture (fair enough I reckon, makes the job harder!)
