At last, 4 months to the day from when my application went in i got the letter through the post that my application has been approved! chuffed to bits. It would have been quicker but for the extra tests etc due to my diabetes but pleased overall with 4 months. Just to pay the migrant levy now, then sell the house which has some solid interest already. :nice1

Thanks James. It would have been quicker as im going in the partner route as my wife is a kiwi. It was the medical issue that delayed it by almost 2 months.

Seems like a bunch of people are getting AIP at the same time, but I guess it's just my current focus on the issue that's biasing my viewpoint. Maybe we can start a "AIP Class Of July '07" thread? :)

Seems like they are coming through quicker. We had to send two medical reports on Graham's heart surgery and arteries. The surgeons made a very good report out letting them know that he was in good health now and no more surgery was imminent (that is what they asked for) so don't know how long it will take now. They received them 3 weeks ago. How long are they taking for retired parents to get there now does anyone know/

My diabetes slowed down my process by about 6 weeks or so, its not too long. As long as you can show that you are not going to be a big financial burden to their health system you will be ok, even then you can apply for a medical waiver but thats worst case senario and it looks like you wont need that. So hopefully you will hear in the next few weeks.:nice1
