Hi
I have been a vivid reader and researcher of this forum and my wife and I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you.
Our immigration process would not been possible without the help and support of a great number of people in this forum.
I am happy to report that thanks to you all we have been granted PR without job in principle.
My lovely wife is currently 8.5 months pregnant so all we have to do is wait for the bean to arrive send passports and medical for the baby of to NZ house and off we go.
As this is our first child we probably totally underestimate the mammoth task to sort out baby, pack, book flights sell house (not necessarily in this order). Consequently family thinks that we are bonkers and should stay in the U.K as this would be so much easier.
We would like to hear from families who are or where in a similar situation to keep us motivated.

I hope we can now be an active forum member and contribute positively.

Once again thank you, thank you.

Hi Guys!

Wellcome to the forum and Well done for your PR! Hope everthing goes well for you....

The link is a starter for 10 to help you get started...it has an excellent 'spider chart' (courtesy of Sam B - it's fantastic). This should give you an idea of what to plan for. There will be some other folk along in a bit who have gone through the process who are better placed to advise you than I am.

Congrats on the PR! :raebanana

I'm in a similar position to you - OH got NZQA and Teacher registration sorted out, was about to go for PR when I got pregnant! So, I'll be really interested to hear how you get on in your journey to NZ (mine's not due until December and we'll probably delay our planned departure until December 2008 now). But, like you, the family all think we're mad to consider it! However, I know others on this forum have emigrated with small children, so I'm sure you'll get plenty of advice.

Good luck :nice1

Congratulations pipipudel!

We are in the same boat as you (minus the baby), just received PR without job offer. It feels like "the deep breath before the plunge" right now. I heartily second your thoughts about this forum, a real gem.

You know what time it is..... :raebanana :raebanana :raebanana

Good Luck!

Congratulations on your baby.

According to our case worker adding a baby is straight forward.
The baby needs a short medical by one of the approved Doctors this is relatively cheap compared to our own medical (£60) this is send to your case worker together with baby’s valid passport and birth certificate.
O yes don’t forget the migrant levy for the little one.

Good luck
