The Kapiti Coast W.E.A. is offering a number of courses ranging from hands-on art to a seminar for first time home buyers (for $10) to the philosophy of Heidegger and Kant. Check them out here (http://www.kapitiwea.org.nz/Course.html). They offer things like native flax weaving, NZ ferns and NZ sign language too...

Just an update - I took the oamaru stone sculpture course (http://www.kapitiwea.org.nz/CourseE.html#handson), and it was great fun. Only $80 for 6 classes, and the stone and use of tools were provided at no extra charge. She's offering it again in October - November.
