Hi all,

Don't know if you remember me but about 12 months ago we submitted our EOI and encountered some difficulties and were popped on back into the pool. A year later and we have now become more aware of the upcoming changes and are reconsidering our options.

I'm just curious though, I just did another points test for my dad and we only score 85points now when compared to the 105/110 we got last time.

Dad's still a planning and services manager in distrubtion but there doesn't seem to be an option anymore to select that you're in skilled employment currently, it seems they're only interested if you're currently working in or have a job offer of employment in NZ?

What's changed?!?!?!

Seems a little extreme! That's a major pointless. The Auckland option has gone, as has the general skilled employment.

I guess they're either wanting to boost out the temporary work, so people are only coming and working straight away (not dependant upon the country) and then applying for PR.

I can already feel the headache coming on again!

It's either that I think, or they're trying to reduce the amount of applicants before the new system comes into effect end of July.

Ooh how I forgot the stresses of this wonderful process haha.
