Hi, everyone! I posted a greeting in Jeni's thread, but I thought instead of hijacking her thread I'd start my own. I got my working Holiday visa approved a few days ago and I'm looking to leave from over here in the US around the first week of September.

I'm nervous but excited! Wish me luck! :raebanana

Thanks for the welcome!
Can someone tell me: I have a working holiday visa. Can I fly in on just a one-way ticket? I don't want to by a round trip b/c that's too far in advace to plan. If I come in on a one-way ticket am I going to encounter any problems?

Your WHV should have the words "outward passage waived" somewhere on it, this means that you can travel to NZ on a one way ticket, however the NZIS may ask you if you have sufficient funds to buy a return ticket.

When my wife came on a WHV the only problem she had was in Sydney, AU, when checking in for the connecting flight the airline agent insisted that she needed a round trip ticket, she didn't let it go until I dug out the WHV and showed her where it read "outward passage waived", after that we were on our way with no problems.

Thanks! It does say outward passage waived! I wondered what that meant.
