Dear All,

Just received a acknowledgement letter today from NZIS stating that they have received our application (Application Received). In the letter, NZIS state that it will take about 4 months for them to process the PR application.

Just want to know from fellow forumers(without job offer) who have received their PR, do NZIS normally take take that long to process the PR. I thought they normally take about 1 month to process. Look like the dream migration may have to be delayed again.

Hi Vincent,

I have read here of people getting their PR within 48 hours so that 4 months could just be the normal time they take. Keep yoru fingers crossed! :hopeso

Thankfully my family in Penang is safe. Sumatra absorbed a lot of the shock or Penang would have been washed away!

Hope we will see each other in New Zealand next year. Where are you planning on settling? Any time frame when you are heading down?

Hi Shagen,

I will be heading to Palmerston North ( 2hours drive from Wellington) sometime probably in the last quarter of 2005 (Sep- Dec). I know that you are heading to Christchurch. I guess we can still meet up one day in New Zealand.

I will be going down to NZ sometime in April / May 2005 for a recce trip.

I usually takes less time than that but our case worker told us that they need to send official stuff with the maximum timings on, even if it doesnt apply to you specifically.

I read in the other thread that you have received your PR. Congrats. Anyway, just out of curiousity, how long did you wait to get your PR after sending your documents and ITA for verification. Another question, did you have a job offer?

I did have a job offer. So your situation is abit different. It took 8 days from ITA lodgement to PRs issued.

We were told they process in terms departure dates, and as our was 17/1/05 I think it was given fairly hefty priority
