Does anyone know if the NZ mobile (vodafone) I bought here can be unlocked to work in the UK when I go home?
Thanks

What type is it? Nokias used to be quite easy, just get a code on the t'internet. Did have a website somewhere, prob on other pc though....
I used to see loads of shops on the edge of the city centre advertising unlocking for £20, so thats maybe an option as well.

Cheers Sal - I presume I can as I had a phone unlocked to come out here with - Joe used it as a spoon though and it's never been the same since.
It's a Sony Ericcsson, must be worth taking back rather than selling here.
Anyone else got any experience of this?

Sim cards are very easy to pick up for pay as you go phones and you should be able to get one for free.
If you are going for a contract phone then you should get a free phone anyway.

Specky - you miss understand me. I have bought a phone in NZ and I am coming home - leaving NZ to go back to the UK.
I am trying to find out if I can unlock the phone I bought in NZ so it will work in the UK. Have you done this? Has anyone else?
I already have my old 3 sim card I'm hoping to resurect when I get home.

Was bored, so asked my good friend Google...

this is what came up, looks perfectly possible, model dependant, tried mine and it said it cant be done (but its pretty new out), but yours may be different, if its a little bit older.

Try it with a UK simcard first - most in NZ aren't locked as there's no need - only one network with simcards.
I used mine with a UK SIM card, no problems.

Anna & Sal
thanks for that
I'm pretty confident that it will work - will prob have to get a new sim thats all as the 3 network is bit choosy about it's phones.
Thanks
