Has anyone been watching RealestateTV on Sky 279 this weekend? It's been back to back epidodes of buyers/sellers/realestate agents' experiences in NZ. To any normal human being the words 'paint', 'dry' and 'watch' would spring to mind. However, to us (recovering from a family wedding where we broke the news - another thread-) it's a fascinating insight into the terminology and ins and outs of the way things work in NZ. It's also interesting to get a moving look at the types of properties around rather than just snapshots on a website.

We're on about episode 6 now (3 hours) and can't tear ourselves away in case we miss something. Please send help!:eek:

I know just what you mean, but it is so much better to get rid off your rubbish now before you move than take it with you and then throw away.

I cleared our loft yesterday, a full loads to the tip and a garage full for a car boot sale.

I've just woken up at 3.00am and the programmes just keep coming. It's Location, Location, Location dating back 2004/05/06. There's apparently a new series based in NZ starting Monday (today) at 7.30pm UK time. (Corrie St time).
Those NZ estate agents really go for it don't they? Does it all really happen that quickly? How long does it usually take from offer(s) to settlement (see, I'm getting the hand of the realestate-speak already!) Presumably not the interminable months here in the UK.

Now, to invest in the up and coming Bulgarian property market or a lakeside cabin in Tennessee? Real Estate TV has opened up a whole new world...:rolleyes:

Is this weekly or are the daily episodes all NZ based? It doesn't say much on the programme synopsis on Sky.

Not on normal - Sky 273. Must have changed it overnight cos at 3am it was on 279. They're only doing it to confuse me. It's Real Estate TV whatever the numbers are.

Interesting that instead of employing a Real Estate agent he gave money to the local school to market it. I thought what a great idea - then he let it all down by running an abysmal and cringe worthy auction.

Auctions I think only work for really desirable and sought after properties - he would have been better to front up with a price.

Looks like it's on at 11.30pm too. I'm trying to take it seriously - honestly. When we buy, if I have retained any of the images from this programme I can't see how I will be able to keep a straight face. I know Location, Location, Location was the title of a UK show looking at just that, location of property and its effect on values. They should call this show Living Room, Living Room, Living Room cos we don't see much more than that. It's all Negotiation, Negotiation, Negotiation! Looks more like a battle for who can hang out the longest. Deal or No Deal around the dining table. Marvellous stuff. Please send help!!
