Forgive us for what might be a dumb question..
I'm putting my ITA documentation together today, I seem to remenber someone posting here that you also need to send 2 photocopies of all of your paperwork with the ITA. i.e 2 copies of degree certificates, 2 of wedding certificate etc etc....
But looking at my ITA docs I can't find any reference to this, I don't want to miss somethig here, but likewise I don't want to send needless copies of documents that will just annoy my case officer.
Like everyone else I want this to go through quickly.
Can anyone please clarify on what they did ?
Alan & Sally
PS,
Happy new year to you all, next year in NZ
:cheers

Hi Alan and Sally,
I only sent 1 copy for each of the documents and my status have changed to Application received. So I guess 1 copy will do.

I think that information came in the letter rather than the forms.
Did you also get a piece of paper telling you which order to put the documents in?
I took our app in person, in the order requested and one photocopy of each "orginal document". Our case worker was really appreciative of the correct order and stamped the photocopies "original sighted" and handed me back the originials there and then.
hope this helps

Were the copies you took just straight photocopies or were they certified copies?
Thanks

Moorf..er yes and yes. They were straight photocopies and I got a receipt, which incidentally droppped out of my pocket crossing Trafalgar Square!
Some rare Londoner actually stopped me and pointed it out, Phew!

Just to confirm, we presented just 1 photocopy (not certified) of each document, and paperclipped it to the back of the original, I placed a post-it note on the front of each 'section' detailing what was included..best not to place it in a plastic wallet or ringbinder...we just kept it all together and used the big envelope we got from our X-rays when we had our medicals!!! All went well for us..we got PR in 2 weeks of submitting the paperwork!! :eek :eek :nice1 :nice1 so must have done something right eh?? :cool
We received a receipt of the paperwork submitted, and all the photocopies were done on our home printer!! :yes :yes :yes
Hope that helps
Take care and good luck

We simply provided one piece of evidence for every section as requested on the check list, so either original plus phoyocopy or copy which had been certified and witnessed etc.
We have had our approval in principle confirmed and there were no problems with the documentation we sent.
The case officer has written to say the one original item we sent will be returned.
So, don't get stressed, we just thought we would try and see the documentation we collated through the eyes of the case officer and tried to spot any errors or stuff that might have caused a delay before we sent it off.
It was wierd when it was sent, as it became quite a treasured portfolio and so much depended on the information being sent, but have faith in simply sending what they ask for, and you will be fine.

I had more than one qualification listed on the EOI but the ITA only asked for only one of them!
We submitted one certified true copy of all documents requested and a translation (coz some of ours are in Malay). We were advised to also include the receipt for the certification and translation. Apparently they need to ensure that it was independently done and if need be, to contact them!
How about you guys? If it is only me, I may need to change my look probably! :uhoh

There was nothing in our ITA notes that asked for photocopies if originals were being submitted - and having gone in person today and hand delivered our ITA to our case officer he said that no, photocopies weren't required except where you don't have the original and in that case a certified photocopy must be provided. So, you only need one set of docs to send.. no need to photocopy the whole lot and send two.
UNLESS.. it is specifically requested in your covering letter or additional notes.... but I can't see why this would be any different unless it's a regional thing.

Helen (Moorf, for newbies) - it may be regional. Our instructions are from the SM Team in London, and say "If you are providing originals rather than ceritifed copies please provide a photocopy behind each item. This does not include the application form, medical certificates or police certificates".
There may even have been a mention of this in the blue cover letter they sent... and I think there has been talk on this(?) forum that sending them a photocopy is a help and a courtesy, but not a deal-breaker!
Cheers,
Matt.

Interesting... would be good to hear from others who have submitted in NZ, UK and USA to see how different the submission requirements are with regards to copies....

Yes... it looks to me as though the London sheet I quoted from ("Tips for Lodging Skilled Migrant Applications") is probably inserted in all ITAs mailed from NZ House. Just a feeling, I mean: noe evidence on the sheet suggesting that.
Actually, I think it's the same tips info. the London branch has put online.
Hang on....

Aha, an inserted sheet - that would indicate that it is definately regional - no such sheet inserted in ours which was sent from the Christchurch office here in NZ. I wonder if it's a staffing issue - i.e they don't have the staff time to photocopy in London whereas Chch does?

...and I'm back.
Okay. Well, London seems to mention it in a few places. Here's one:
http://www.immigration.govt.nz/NR/rdonlyres/16AEB969-C781-4A38-ACF0-712E63462A78/0/TipsforResidencyApplicationLodgement0205.doc
(This sheet seems to be aimed at SMC applicants as much as it is aimed at any category.)
Photocopies by the applicant? Probably because of the numbers... and as I say, I think they use the word "Please" because it's a help and a courtesy to them. Not essential.

Yep, Helen: I meant to emphasize in one of my earlier posts on this that the sheet is designated in print as being from by the London SM team at the bottom.

Thanks MB. Haven't seen that before! It also mentioned not sending settlement with the application whereas our ITA pack specificallly asked for the dosh with the application!! I think the point here is carefully check the requirements sent in your own ITA pack :nice1 not all packs are the same.

Sorry to go on, but there's a twist. The printed sheet I got did not have that 'don't-send-remittance-it-messes-up-our-abacus' instruction.
Maybe they can accept the payments now. I think the online sheet was an earlier composition.

I think they have their knickers in a twist and lots of updates being done!
Whilst completing our ITA we noticed that some terminology has also changed - for instance, job list isn't called the Priority Occupation List anymore - it's now known as Immediate Skill Shortage List and Long Term Skill Shortage List
