Hey everyone,
unfortunately, Steve and I have decided to stop our progress on New Zealand for now. Too many things are standing in our way; I never thought it would come to this. The house listing is almost expired and we haven't come close to selling it. We have already lowered it more than we should have. This isn't the only reason; in fact, just about everything in our lives ISN'T being conducive to our move. I guess the universe really was telling us something but it took it smacking us around for a bit before we'd listen.
We aren't giving up forever, but it's time to start living again. There are several things we will work on before trying our NZ move again.
I love this forum, please keep up the good work everyone, I hope all of your dreams come true!
Ana

Hey, sometimes things just get in the way and you just have to give in for a while.

Good luck with whatever you do for the next little while, and hopefully one day you can make it down here when the time is right.

Hope it's not too much of a blow for you and that you enjoy living for a while without the emigration stress!!

You're right, sometimes things conspire against us and it makes you wonder if a higher force is telling you that now is not the time.
Keep your dreams and hope with you, when the time is right you're dreams will come true.

Good luck with your future.

Hi Ana & Steve,

Sorry to hear that you will not come to live in Wellington - you would have made a great additional to this city!!!

But indeed like the others already said - sometimes there are other things in life and please keep in mind: NZ is not the only/best place in the world for everyone at any time.

At least we have been able to meet in Wellington and maybe we will see you again one day!

All the best,
Anita

It sounds like coming to NZ right now wouldn't be the best thing for you guys in the long run so good for you being flexible with your plans. It'll all come together at some better time in the future . . . or maybe some other wonderful opportunity will come your way!

I'm so glad we got to meet up with you on your Welly trip! Big {{hugs}} and a virtual glass of mead to you both and we wish you the very best wherever your lives take you.

Hi Ana,
So much better to be truly exploring your reasons and desire to come to NZ now...if (or when) you do come, you will have deeply considered all the many aspects that should be thought about long and hard first. I wish you all the best - enjoy living again as this process certainly can be all consuming can't it?!

Hugs,
Amy.

So sorry to read your post, but I'm glad you are able to come to this realization and move on. Sometimes the signs just can't be ignored!!

....And you do have a lovely home in CA, and you shouldn't have to "give it away" and feel miserable that you lost so much money by doing so.

I wish you both the best of luck.

So sorry it hasn't worked out for you at the moment, but I think you're right to move on for a while and get your lives back, and hopefully in a while, the housing market will pick up etc, and you can try again. I know you will make it here in the not too distant future.

Aww, so sorry to hear that. Drop in and see us from time to time - just in case life veers back in a direction that is the same as your dreams. Bet your house sells within days. Good luck in whatever you do. Thanks for the words of widsom over the past few months.

Maybe see you on the other side one day.

Best of luck with your decision guys, it's a hard one to make and you've put a lot of work into trying to make this happen but just try to relax for a while now and enjoy living. Who knows what direction your lives may take in the future and NZ may still one day be part of it.

Good luck in whatever you may do.

Hi Ana&Steve,

I too am very sorry to read your news, but echo what others have said.

Sometimes it's wise to know when to stop struggling and give it a rest. You never know what tomorrow may bring, life is funny that way, but sometimes you have to let it be for a while to be able to move forward again.

I have thoroughly enjoyed your many positive contributions to this forum and hope you won't be strangers, so to speak...

Good luck with life, may it bring you much happiness, and hopefully you'll be able to return to your dream sometime in the (near ?) future...

All the best,
Silver

So sorry to hear that Ana! Sometimes you have to retreat and regroup. I'm sure this was a very difficult decision for you but you've done all the leg work and when the time is right, and the house is sold, you'll breeze through the process and land in Wellington.

I'm sad we won't see you guys for awhile. But I understand your decision and wish you both the best.

Thanks also for your tremendous help to others on this board. You've made the trip over smoother for other people and your enthusiasm made this board better for everyone too.

Ana & Steve,

I'm a big believer in things happening (or not happening..) for a reason. Although that reason may not be completely clear at this moment.

It hurts to have to make a decision like this. But you have have each other, your health and a good life, albiet not the one you have truely set your hearts on.

Keep the faith .....Things have a way of coming full circle.

Ana and Steve - not sure how I missed this earlier... (I must have actually been doing some work!)

I'm so sorry to hear you've had to make this decision. Hopefully you'll be able to renew your immigration plans in the future.

Wishing you both all the best for your future - wherever it may take you.
