Hello again,

I've just posted a walks thread for families with young children (http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12584), but (copies direct from website) the Auckland Regional Parks network offers walks to suit any age and fitness level. Walks range from easy ambles on well-formed tracks or boardwalks, to serious tramping tracks in the Waitakere or Hunua Ranges; from 5 minute introductions to the variety of the NZ bush, to full day walks that take you to peaks that overlook the Auckland region.

The information on the walks is held here (http://www.arc.govt.nz/arc/auckland-regional-parks/activities/walks.cfm).

Hopefully, he says, as the weather getting warmer, those that are interested will be able to make use of this.

We'll start doing a few of the walks (no more than a few hours mind you) so if anyone is interested in making this a group thing, then please shout.
