HI

Today had information on Emergencies and being prepared, in post, as advertised on TV.

Hope people reading this dont think i am stupid, but its things like this that you dont get told anything about - does anyone have the necessary items that is suggested that in so called emergencies like earthquakes, etc - you are prepared ?

I know i am a blonde - but its something i have thought a lot about. Our little boy got training on how to act in a state of emregency - ie earthquake, but coming from UK, have never been prepared for somehting like this, and would imagine people in NZ treat this like second nature.

www.eq-iq.org.nz has pretty much everything you could ever want to know on the subject, including this list of supplies.

Earthquakes suck. We had a doozy over here at the weekend. And a typhoon. Just waiting on the locusts now...

Watched the really thrilling Victoria Beckham interview on TV last night. She didn't come across as bad as I was expecting (but then again I was expecting the very worst). On the program she had earthquake training in a mobile truck, but she was also given an emergency supplies rucksack. (she didn't like the rucksack but suggested that it would all fit into a hermes bag).
The rucksack looked quite impressive with food and ponchos (which VB wouldn't be seen dead in) etc.

But surely Victoria Beckham's packing needs are light anyway? I mean, she doesn't eat, for a start...

Go for the Aussie Under Attack Kit (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/6902143.stm) instead. Running shoes and toilet paper - sounds like preparedness. Just add brown trousers and a 24 pack of Fosters and she'll be right...
