How long does NZQA wait to hear back from the qualification awarding body?
I sent the qualifcation people a general email (before we sent off the NZ form) and never got a response.

NZQA will try and contact your awarding institute 3 times in a 6 month period. They usually wait upto 8 weeks between requests.

the request to our awarding institute was sent by fax on a bank holiday and had not been returned as quickly as any correspondence that we had undertaken between oursleves and the college so we asked nzqa to resend the fax.

They did this and got a response within a couple of days.

Remember you are not allowed to contact the college yourself to chase up an nzqa request for information.

so.., it quite long for you to wait the assessment result from NZQA.
what actually makes the assessment took so long ? I plan to send my documents the end of this month, hopefully it won't take too long

do you get a job offer with sending the assessment report to the employer?
maybe it will make easier to get a job ?

What takes so long is that they have such a backlog of assessments.
They state that they will take 30 days from looking at the assessment to sending the response, (not taking into account any delays waiting for requested information). What they do not state is that they don't look at the request immediately. Our request sat on a desk for over 30 days without being given to an evaluator.

If you require a result quickly, I would send it via the fast track system, but even then, be prepared for a long wait.

The assessment is needed for some jobs, in our case it was required for teachers council registration. It is also needed for your ITA if you are claiming points for qualifications in your EOI.
