Aye indeed what did happen to 2008??
Well we had said that if the right job came along Clare would apply for it, so she did and got it havent seen anymore suitable jobs since then so glad she got it, perhaps it's fate as everything else so far is dropping into place.
Jim and Karen, we are off to Christchurch, Clare has a position at the womens hospital. Me,well i'm going to work on getting my golf handicap down , but when not doing that have 2 jobs lined up

Hi there
The secret of success in our case was to do it like a military exercise.
First of all we got the NZ nurse registration bit done, that took about six weeks (and that was with a bit of a delay on the training docs as the college couldn't find/ denied they had a request). Also everyone seems to want a bit of dosh!!!
Second we kept looking at the jobs posted on the CDHB website, then i emailed for a JD then applied. They emailed me back and then phoned me up!!!
Third we booked our medicals - and got a place where they do all the x-rays and bloods at the same time.
Then we put in EOI !!! and I collected all the evidence ready to prove each part of the things we had claimed in it. I photocopied it so i was ready when the ITA came.
The ITA came and we had a named officer - hooray - makes it all seem much more real and not such a task. i spoke to her on the phone and checked that the evidence i was supplying was appropriate - esp. the relationship stuff. I also said when we would be putting ITA in and that we would do it in London in person (rather than posting it).
Luckily when we arrived at NZ house (dig the pic of Sir Ed!!!) it was our officer on the desk. The only hitch here was that she wanted clarity from her manager over an eye condition Ben had 9 years ago!!!
so instead of going yippee when we came out we were a bit perplexed and felt a bit flat. Find out exactly what they want and when they are going to give you answers. Fine line between nagging and enquiring anxiously!!!
All that was needed was a report from the optician and a decsion from the case officers manager - phew it was ok ... so on we go.
Then it seemed to speed along. Except that i was asked (after i had shredded all the xtra paperwork for some joint bank account evidence - eeeeekkkkk) so another trip to the bank and a fax machine.
So there you are hey presto - blue blue blue ......
All the requests from 'others' such as opticians i have waited whils they prep report or told them it was urgent and would collect to avoid any delay. I am sure this helped speed it up.
Any thing else just PM me :cheers
Would have to say that our officer was FANTASTIC - always phoned me when she said she would. VERY helpful even when i felt like i was being a pain and very patient.
Clare :cheers
