It's in the office at Community Living Trust here in Hamilton. They're an organisation that help people with intellectual difficulties to remain in their own homes.
I'm nervous but looking forward to it. They're going to be sending me on some training courses to learn about Maori culture and apparently once a fortnight/month they have a Waita session (singing session) which is voluntary but they have a teacher there who tells you how to pronounce everything.
Will let you know how I get on.

If you learn anything useful about pronunciation....PLEASE post it:nice1
Would be nice to not get strange looks from people every time I pronounce place names wrong...but they are too polite to say anything. Have looked at some maori websites, but too much info to look through and remember. Finally figured out that WH is pronounced F!

Thanks for the good wishes folks. Sam also had an interview yesterday for a permanent position, so fingers crossed for him, as it sounded interesting.

Good luck Paula!!
It sounds interesting!
In my orientation at the Hospital, we went to the Marae there. We went through the Karanga (calling in) and had to take shoes off to actually go into the Marae - it was certainly an experience!! After all the greetings, we had to rub noses with them and foreheads touching as part of their welcome!
I also hate not being able to pronounce names when i have to phone people, and hate it if i cant get it right!
Best Wishes
Sharon
