I did search for this, but it didn't throw up any threads that made sense.

I've found some good sites and thought I'd post them here. If anyone has any other good sites, then perhaps they could add them, or if the activity is specific to one region, then it could be put in its own specific thread.

What I've found so far are:
AA Travel (www.aatravel.co.nz)
101 Must Do for Kiwi's (http://www.aatravel.co.nz/101-must-dos-for-kiwis/) (part of AA Travel, but not a bad list!)
100% Pure New Zealand (http://www.newzealand.com/travel/sights-activities/sights-activities-home.cfm)

Not sure exactly how you go about bumping up an old thread, but there is one called "Ideas for Places to Visit in the North Island" and its got some good information about great places in the North Island.
(Maybe someone can tell me if this is the right way to do this. )
