Thanks for the welcome guys. This really does seem to be a great forum.

We're in the Eastern Cape and would probably settle around Auckland or Wellington, as that's where most of the IT jobs seem to be.

We have two teenage kids, so schooling/uni would also need to be factored into the equation.

well we officially finished working today (me and wife), next week of to durban for 3 days (going to say bye to fam), we in joburg (midrand)

the 7 August the house gets packed in a container, and 10 august we go to Jan Smuts (GRIN) lughawe and get on air singapore to singapore for 4 days and then on to auckland to tour NZ for 3 weeks (campervan !!!) , go for job interviews and find a house and and, well find out what the local beer taste like !!!

as yopu's can see we not doing it via EOI, ITA, PR, is basically for the van der westhuizen family NZ or BUST !!!


and i have to blame all you lovely people on this forum for all these crazy ideas !!!!!! (grin) well actually we had the idea all along, you lot just convinced us to go for it !!!!

We awaiting our PR - will be interested to hear about your children going off to Uni - we hope to make big move by Dec so our son can get into uni as a PR - where do you plan to settle. We plan to have 4 weeks in Plett before flying out to Auckland/Hamilton. Look forward to meeting up

We still awaiting our PR - but hope to be there early 2008 to organise our son in Uni - what uni are your boys going to and what do they plan to study. Our son not too happy about the big move - leaving big brothers and mates - so would be so good to meet someone his age before he goes off. Would love to meet up.
