Had our medicals in Manchester today with Dr Smith / Dr Million.

My BMI was 31 and my waist was 100 so I avoided extra blood tests.

Time taken for 2 adults and 2 children was under 2 hours for everything, examination, blood tests and X rays.

Totals cost for all four of us was £680.

Word of warning, they don't take credit / debit cards yet so take your cheque book, or run across Manchester trying to find a bank and wonder why your blood pressure is so high.

Dr Smith was great and the whole thing went really well, jsut waiting for the results of blood and X rays then down to London.

Think we are now going to apply for work visas / student visas here and submit ITA when we arrive in NZ as time is very short and we need signed contract for kim's job which we haven't got and will struggle to get before we arrive.

Thanks for bothering to keep us up to date with your progress; hope it continues to go smoothly. Very useful for seeing it all unfold step by step.

Any further on selling your house? What's your back up plan if it doesn't sell in time?

Best of British luck to you all,

Carey (still waiting to get corrected NZQA document and no news from TC yet)

Now theres a funny thing. Our Doctor in Harley Street said exactly the same. "We are not able to take credit cards yet". Must be some conspiracy with Doctors. So we handed over £500 in cash as they also said they couldn't take a cheque for that amount without a cheque card and our cheque card limit was £200. Not bad for 20 minutes work
