It was a great feeling actually.......!!!:D

At last we have something to work towards.
Flying out of Manchester on the 08/10/07, 3 lovely nights stopover at the Mandarin Oriental Singapore for some
R & R and maybe a little retail therapy.

Flying out of Singapore on the 12/10/07 down to Auckland, hopefully more refreshed!

2 days in Auckland waiting for my baby:laugh to arrive (snowy my westie) via Golden Arrow and Air NZ, and then down to the BOP to stay with a couple of friends until we get a rental sorted out......phew!!!!!

Oh and to top it all, got an interview lined up at a school in Tauranga for the daughter (15)

It's all going on.......Plenty more hurdles yet i know but we're getting there.

Pass the chardonnay......I need a drink!

The time will fly by until you leave now. We shipped our westie with Golden Arrow and they were great.

Good luck with it all

Hi Lesley,

Glad to see you are full of enthusiam for your coming trip. We have been down hear in South Otago for nearly two years and are loving every minute of it.
The last two weeks of being in the UK are the worst and you will need to be rested and full of energy. People will be putting obsticales in you way constantly, and you will have to keep jumping over them. Best of Luck.
Anyway, I was writing this reply to tell you of our story with Gussie, our 11 year old westie bitch.

I could cope with all the rest of the emotional crap, and physical barriers of moving halfway around the world. But picking the dog up at the airport, when she was covered in excrement and had been barking for 5 days solid, was not a pretty sight. She hadnt eaten or drunk any water for the entire five days. After two years her bark is still not right, but she is enjoying the freedom of the beaches and open spaces down here.

We werent very emotionally prepared for picking the dog up, and we had no way of cleaning her up. So I suppose this is just a bit of advice to be prepared. And I hope you dog gets a better trip than ours did.

If you are ever traveling down in the deep south with the dog please feel free to look us up

Dave - who did you use to ship her ? might be useful for others to know ?. I was very happy with the condition and state of my cat (shipped with Golden Arrow), and I've generally heard good things about them - but the more feedback, the better - on this forum!

Dave

That's so distressing!! Did she go with Golden Arrow too?
The majority of people I have spoken to on this forum have had positive experiences shipping pets - but I do bear in mind that this could happen.

And thanks for the invite - it would be nice.

Kind Regards
LesleyS
