We tried that tack years ago on the flight from Perth to the UK only to find that Kerry our youngest daughter (1 yr old then) had a reverse reaction. That was a fun flight!!! Whatever you decide to try and use whether its homeopathic, alternative or convential I would suggest that you try it out before the flight.

If you have a youngster who suffers with pain on take off or landing, go to your pharmacy and invest in some "earplanes". they cost around the £5 mark and are IMO worth every penny.

Dawn,
We use Medised to help our 9 month old baby sleep on long flights. It works very well for us, but you should consult your GP before using.
You should also ensure that you give your child milk/water on take off and landing as this will prevent the pain associated with the change in cabin pressure.
Hope you have a great flight.
Cheers

We travelled to Austrlia on Qantas once with our 18 month old and becasue the flight wasn't really full, the stewardess kindly moved a passenger next to us to somewhere else where there was an empty seat available and our daughter had a seat for herself. That made a lot of difference to her and us not to mention the people around us.
Also the crew aren't really as busy all teh time as compared to a shorter flight and they took our daughter to the galley a few times and came back with sweets and stuff which kept her busy right through the 8 hour flight! No sedatives needed!

on first trip to nz (straight 25 hrs minus 2 in sing) cheerful 2.5 year old didn't sleep a wink. ever after travelled with bach's rescue remedy - think it works as it never happened again.
