I have been here living in Island Bay, Wellington (from Seattle) for close to 3 weeks now. I live in a nice home on the ocean, ride a 50cc scooter 6km to a great job in Wellington's CBD. Thank you to everyone who kept pushing me to get here. It's hard road of frustration dealing with all these immigration road blocks. I think this forum is great as well as the people here.

I wanted to post some photos I took from LAX as I waited for my one-way flight to Auckland last month, one of AKL and of my bike on the coast near Wellington.

To those who are still working on your immigration red tape items and such, keep pushing as it's worth it in the end. Sooner, NOT later, you'll be seeing your own 747 rolling up to the gate to whisk you away to New Zealand... It's a great feeling to see the airplane that will deliver you to your future! It's the best surreal feeling you will ever imagine. Keep pushing and have patience as soon you will board your 747 too.. :nice1

Thanks again everyone for the wonderful support system that you keep going here... and I hope these photos inspire you.

John
PS. I just submitted my PR application (let the fun begin!!!)

You came on a QANTAS plane?? Do you not realise they keep track of these things, you only get PR if you come on an Air NZ plane!geeeez, doesn't anyone tell you folks these things? Sheeeshhhh....
Glad to hear you are enjoying it here... I guess the weather is pretty similar to Seattles anyhow isn't it, so you should be able to adapt well.
Cheers, Stu.

John, Kia Ora!

Your pics in your post just gave my hairs a little jolt on the back of the neck, reminded me of our arrival and what we have actually achieved.

Yes, the red tape is a pain, but it has to be done. And you are correct, once you get into it, it soon gets done.

Enjoy Welly!!

Steve
